I'm Youko Margaret, the maker, mom, nature lover, nurse, library nerd, and Air Force veteran behind SwedishJapanese. I've been dabbling in crafts for many years, all the while being mentored by my very talented and wise mother. She sadly passed away last May and I miss her much! Mom was a gifted seamstress and accomplished oil painter. I, myself, find much love in needlework and paper art.
My inspiration comes from the simple beauty of nature, color, texture, and cultural influence. I especially adore Asian, Native American, and Scandinavian art.
All items have been designed and/or handcrafted by myself or my dear late mother. I hope our creations sprinkle a bit of joy, beauty, and goodness to your day!
